Sacred Heart Server Schedule
Fall 2009 (September-November)
Notes—
1. We are still at one turn per weekend until Saturday, Nov 7.
2. On Nov 8 clocks change one hour later for Eastern Standard Time.
3. We had difficulty during the summer with some of you keeping your appointments. Please remember that when you can’t make your appointment you need to find a substitute. If you can’t find a substitute, please call Mr. Wicks (340-9732) or Mrs. Degener (693-6247) to let us know that we are going to have to deal with a shortage.
4. We are happy to have a number of high school students continuing as servers. It helps enormously. St Stephen’s church has always had a good number of high school students serve at Sunday mass. There is no age when you are “supposed to stop” serving. Stephanie Gardyza (now Dr. Stephanie Weckesser) continued to serve at Sacred Heart even until her first year of medical school! If the day comes that you feel terribly awkward being a server, then we have other ministries for you to grow into—greeting, ushering, lectoring, singing, distributing communion.
5. Saturday (and summer) funerals will still be handled by you. School day funerals will be handled by older adults getting special training for the job.
6. Thanksgiving morning mass (9 am) has not been scheduled yet. If it occurs at Sacred Heart this year, we will need volunteers to cover it.
7. You may also find your upcoming appointments on the bulletin board in back of church.
